Design consultation process and charges
The team at Modern Age Kitchens & Joinery Ltd. are happy to help with all your joinery needs, please feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements. We can then put together a personalised plan to meet your needs, complete with a quote and timeframe for completion.
Showroom consultation – approximately one hour (FREE)
We will meet with you in our showroom, and take this opportunity to get an understanding of your requirements, and your ideas for the space. You are more than welcome to bring your architect’s plans and drawings, as well as any images and samples that will help to convey your vision. This service is available to you free of charge.
*Please note that exact prices of the following will differ according to the size, complexity and location of your project. The information below will give you an idea of some of our service options available.
Site visit – approximately one hour*
We can meet with you in your home where we will measure the space and determine your requirements. We will discuss how you and your family use your current space, what works and what doesn’t and can offer suggestions on alternative layouts or design.
Standard design package*
Our standard design package includes the following. This can be tailored to your individual needs, and to include more or less rooms as required.
- Design concepts for up to two rooms (e.g. kitchen and scullery / laundry / wardrobe/ vanity)
- Production of computer-aided designed floor plans and elevations
- 3D rendered perspective images of proposed design
- Allowance of up to 30 hours of professional designer hours (includes drawing hours, plan producing, requested changes, quotation preparation). If your design is complex, additional design hours may be required
- Colour consultation
- Quotation
The design stage is crucial to the overall success of your project. It involves considerable time and attention to detail in order to produce accurate plans and elevations. Research time is also required in order to specify the appropriate cabinetry, hardware, sinks, waste bins, etc, and obtain quotations for bench tops, accessories and custom finishes. We therefore require a design bond so we can begin this process for you. The design bond will be transferred into your deposit upon receiving confirmation that you wish to proceed to manufacture with Modern Age Kitchens & Joinery Ltd.
If you decide not to proceed with Modern Age Kitchens & Joinery Ltd. from this point, the design bond will be transferred to a design fee, therefore covering time spent by our designer. Should you need a copy of our computer-aided designed floor plans and elevations, we will require a release fee for this purpose.

- All plans and elevations remain the property of Modern Age Kitchens & Joinery Ltd.
- No design work will begin until the design bond has been received by Modern Age Kitchens & Joinery Ltd.
